Final-Round Action at RBC Canadian Open Golf 2022

With the golf world focused on London for the first LIV Golf event at the Centurion Club, a major championship-like leaderboard broke out at the Canadian Open. Tony Finau, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Sam Burns are all in the top going into the final round in Canada, which should make for a tremendous final 18 holes, something the PGA Tour was in need of after trying to fend off the LIV Golf festivities all week.

McIlroy is looking for his second consecutive Canadian Open (he won in 2019, and the even hasn’t bee played for two straight years), while Thomas is looking for his second win in his last three starts (he also won the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa). Finau will try to fend them both off, while Burns will attempt to match his pal Scottie Scheffler as the leader to date with four PGA Tour wins this season.

Add it all up, and the final day at St. George’s should be a great atmosphere as a lead-in to next week’s U.S. Open with most of the guys at the top currently favorites to win next Sunday at The Country Club as well. Keep it locked here as CBS Sports will be keeping track of everything with live updates and analysis throughout Round 4. You can watch the final-round action live on CBS, CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports app from 3 – 6 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Tee times moved up due to potential weather

The first tee time will be at 10:30 a.m. and the leaders will be going off just before 1:00 p.m. This has the potential to be one of the more memorable Sundays on the PGA Tour. Omitted from the calendar in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our friends to the north were more than excited to welcome the PGA Tour’s finest to their neck of the woods.

Rory McIlroy was the most recent winner of the Canadian Open back in 2019, and headed into the final round on Sunday, he’s in position to defend his title as he sits atop the leaderboard at 11 under. Below is all the information you need to catch what should be a thrilling final round on Sunday at the 2022 RBC Canadian Open. The inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series event wrapped up Saturday at the Centurion Club outside London, England. Two-time major champion Dustin Johnson had his moments throughout the week but was unable to garner the strength to make a final-round charge. Carding a three-round total of 1 under, Johnson finished in a tie for eighth and will now set his sights on next week’s U.S. Open at The Country Club.

Also making the transatlantic flight to Boston will be Phil Mickelson, who fell off the pace with rounds of 75-76 after opening with a 1-under 69. In the 51-year-old’s first competitive outing since the Saudi international in February, rust was apparent and fatigue may have set in after Thursday’s play. Mickelson is surely not alone, as it has been a long week covering the LIV Golf Invitational Series with new information coming to light every day. Kevin Na’s resignation from the PGA Tour seems like a lifetime ago despite only being seven days old. sources by
